What is project management?
Project management is the discipline of planning, organizing, and managing resources to bring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives within a specific timeframe and a given budget. A project is a temporary endeavour undertaken to produce a specific product or service. It is temporary in the sense that the project has a defined beginning and end (not to be confused with lead time). Specific in the sense that the product or the service will, in some way, be different from its original state. The temporary nature of projects stands in contrast to ‘business as usual’ or operations, which are permanent or semi-permanent in the sense that they produce the same products and services whenever they take place. The management of the repetitive activities (business as usual or operations) and that of one-off activities (projects) require quite different, technical skills and approach.
What is project coordination?
Project coordination means the actual implementation of the project objec-tives. It ensures smooth progress and a mutually effective cooperation among the various partners to bring about the successful completion of the project.
